“An entirely different order of devotion”
In April and May of 1969, four months after Meher Baba dropped His physical body, many of His young western lovers arrived in Poona, India to keep their appointment with God. What later came to be called The Last Darshan was arranged by Meher Baba and all attendees were invited by Him. In this masterpiece of a speech to these young lovers, Francis Brabazon talks of the might of our Beloved Baba; our steps toward Him and His steps toward us; and the nourishing of His word and His song in our hearts.

“Baba alone was suffering for all of us”
In this poignant talk, Dr. Goher Irani focuses on some of Baba’s physical ailments throughout His life. Dr. Goher lived with Baba and served as His personal physician from 1947 until He dropped the body in 1969. Her experiences, including many instances of being unable to reduce Baba’s pain, made it clear to her that suffering was a necessary part of His Avataric work. Near the end of the talk, Arnavaz Dadachanji speaks to Baba’s emotional suffering.

Meher Center Origins and Development
During this special month, we are once again sharing a film by Jamie and Zo Newell that documents the long, loving, painstaking process of creating a home for Meher Baba in the West. It begins with Elizabeth Patterson’s and Norina Matchabelli’s search for a location for an American center, and culminates in Baba’s arrival in 1952.

“Look Mommy, there’s God!”

Larry Karrasch met Meher Baba for the first time on the Center in 1952. Larry’s parents had learned about Baba at Sufi meetings with Ivy Duce in New York, and when they heard He was coming to Myrtle Beach they decided to travel there to see Him. After a long drive, the family finally approached the Lagoon Cabin expecting to meet a Perfect Master. Instead, they met God. Larry saw Baba in the body five more times over the course of his youth and describes the impact of Baba’s love both on himself and on the rest of his family.
