“Always be conscious of His Presence”

K.K. Ramakrishnan was a lifelong disciple with intimate contact with the Beloved. Here he talks about his coming to Baba, seeing Him for the first time and recognizing Him as the Christ. Baba’s message to him was to be cheerful and spread His message. Inspired by that, Ramakrishnan started the Poona Center with Baba’s permission. Baba personally opened this Center and gave Darshan to thousands. This sharing of his life with Baba is full of simple reflections on how to love Him and continue to remember Him.

“Nothing matters but love for God”

Adele Wolkin was a philosophy student at Columbia when she and Filis Frederick met Elizabeth, Norina, and Nadine at their apartment in New York. In the three women’s presence, and their talk about Baba, Adele found something that she had been looking for but missing in her intellectual search for meaning. In this talk, she describes her developing relationship with Baba’s remarkable Western disciples, her breathless wait for Baba’s arrival, and her eventual meeting with Him at the Center in 1952.

“Love means obedience”

Bill LePage is an author, storyteller and a close Australian disciple of Meher Baba. He first met Meher Baba when he was chosen as one of the western men to attend the Three Incredible Weeks Darshan in India in 1954 and had close contact with Baba over the years. In this video, Bill recounts the story of Baba’s visit to Australia in 1958, interspersing profound details with gems of wisdom from his time around Baba and the Mandali.

“I took Him with me”

Phyllis Ott met Meher Baba for the first time in 1964 in Meherabad, India. Here, she shares her early days in Woodstock, hearing about Meher Baba and writing to Him asking to see Him. At the cancellation of the planned darshan program, she went to India nonetheless, by herself. Nine months later she went back with her husband Lyn Ott. Phyllis and Lyn were both painters who painted Baba’s image numerous times and were one of the two families to live at the Meher Center.

“I felt completely loved”

Ann Conlon found out about Meher Baba in 1956, Here, she shares what she calls the “fairytale” of her longing to meet Him after a missed opportunity in Myrtle Beach in 1958—and her eventual journey to India “for the weekend” (from New York!) to accept Baba’s invitation for darshan for just one day in 1961. Ann shares with humor and poise about her experience of Baba’s love and presence.

“Such an all-pervading peace and joy in His presence”

Marion Florsheim of New York was nicknamed “Energy” by Meher Baba because she frequently said, “I wish you would use my energy, Baba.” Baba did appoint Marion to do significant work for Him, including making all the arrangements for His 1956 trip to the West. In this talk, Marion describes what it was like to be with Baba, and some of the unforgettable events of that 1956 visit.

“He made meaning of a senseless life”

Tex Hightower and Donald Mahler were dance students under Margaret Craske, one of Meher Baba’s close Western women disciples. Their lifelong association with Baba began when Tex met Baba at Meher Center in 1952 in the Lagoon Cabin after a harrowing airplane journey with several other dancers. Donald first met Baba in 1956 at the Delmonico Hotel in NYC. They were most fortunate to be among the prominent carriers of Baba’s lift chair on the Center in 1958. In this laugh-fest of a video, the fellow dancers share profound gems from their contact with Baba, and what they learned about discipleship by observing Margaret Craske’s enormous capacity to love.
